| VISION FOR AN INSTITUTE We live in a time of great rationality, and rationality that stems from our spiritual need to understand is by the will of God. However, rationality when combined with spiritual weaknesses often leads to arrogance. Misunderstandings and confusion then remain despite the endeavors of great intellects. With the onslaught of rationality from academic, political, social, business, and even religious communities, many Christians have withdrawn to positions of only faith. While this reliance on the purity of our spirits to cling to our relationship with the Lord will indeed protect us in troubled times, faith cannot help us to oppose the triumph of arrogance if we are not willing to use our mental and spiritual strengthens as well. This is partly why our Lord Jesus has emphasized that shrewdness and gentleness go hand in hand. This Institute was created to use rationality guided by faith and inspiration empowered by the Holy Spirit to oppose the growth of arrogant rationality. Such endeavors by today’s Christian groups have been limited and their inexperience in wielding the sword of rationality has often led to more contempt from non-Christian groups. Through dedication to the Christian mission and the scientific discipline of reasoning, we hope that the members of the Institute will steadily push against the spreading confusion to defeat the strongholds of arrogant rationality and to free those trapped within the misunderstanding of other religions and ideologies. Let us pray for the Lord's guidance so that we could serve His will. The growth of the worldwide web and broadband communications have enabled our Institute to establish an immediate virtual presence and global reach. However, the power of Christians lies in fellowship. So, members are encouraged to open-up their homes, churches, and resources to conduct regional meetings, support group research, and aid in the Christian mission as the Holy Spirit leads them. The central activities of the Institute are currently being conducted out of the director’s home which the Lord has provided. |
