| CHRISTIANITY & SCIENCE Human intelligence and rationality is a gift from the Lord to be used with the power of the Holy Spirit. If we do not use this gift, we can cling to the Lord through faith, but cannot understand all the wondrous levels of meaning in the scriptures nor explore God’s creation through science. Without the guidance of the Holy Spirit in pursuing science, however, we become vulnerable to the corruption and confusion that stems from arrogance. Thus, spiritual insight and rationality must support one another. Over the past several hundred years, Christian scholars lacking understanding have led to much rejection of scientific achievements. And over the last two hundred years, scientists lacking faith have led to much rejection of the work of God. In these times when many scientists have rejected Christianity and many Christians have embraced faith only as a way of being, Christian scientists and Christians interested in science must come together to end the centuries old feud. Christians distrustful of the accomplishments of rationality must be shown how important it is to understand this world in order to serve God. Scientists with preconceptions of Christian irrationality must be shown how important it is to use the power of spirit to see past the misinterpretations of physical information. This section will present articles discussing the implication of existing scientific research on Christian understanding and new scientific research papers of merit that cannot be published in scientific journals because they challenge anti-Christian scientific views. |
