PREPARING FOR CRISIS
The motivation for all Christian efforts in this world is love. The actions of love in dangerous times must
include the protection of life – life of our families and friends and of all people because Jesus died for
everyone. Thus, this section is devoted to presenting information, research, and discussion that will help
Christians and Christian churches protect life. This is not a new mission for Christianity. During the chaos of
the Dark Ages in Europe, Christian locations stood as the only sanctuaries against a very dangerous world.
In modern times, the role of Christian institutions in protecting people has been greatly overshadowed by the
positive and negative powers of states. As the positive powers of states begin to degrade under the turmoil
of crises and as the negative powers of states begin to rise through the paranoia of the masses, the concept
of sanctuary must be revitalized as a living mission for all Christians and Christian locations.

The following links provide some initial thoughts and information on how Christian leaders and churches
can prepare for crises.
Readers are requested to study more detailed crisis planning material from local
and federal government agencies to enhance the accuracy of their activities and decisions. Information on
specific crisis risks for different territorial regions are often available on the worldwide web.
